The Israel Diamond Industry has recently concluded hosting the International Diamond Week in Israel, a three-day event that was filled with a range of professional diamond-related events in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, Israel from March 27-30.

All the leading bodies of the diamond industry arrived in Israel and gathered at the Israeli Diamond Exchange complex to mark the 40th IDMA Congress and the 40th WFDB Congress.

During the three-day event, the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) hosted the World Diamond Council (WDC) board meeting, with the participation of IDI Chairman Arnon Juwal and IDI CEO Aviel Elia. The board meeting addressed some of the most critical issues for the industry and discussed different ways cooperation could benefit the entire industry.

The IDI leaders also held meetings with industry leaders throughout the week to promote Israel as a major diamond trading hub and establish its central status in the global diamond industry.

This three-day event was home to the largest international diamond show in Israel (and one of the largest events in the annual calendar of the diamond industry). The event showcased the first-ever Israel Diamond Conference, the biggest International Diamond Exhibition ever held in Israel, the 40th Edition of the World Diamond Congress (conducted separately by IDMA and the WFDB), and talks and panel discussions by major personalities in the diamond world. The speakers comprised of key diamond producers, government officials, bankers, analysts, influencers, and others.

The World Diamond Congress (WDC) – the primary event organized by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association and held every three years – took place on March 29 and 30.

The first Israel Diamond Conference was opened. The two-day event brought together the senior leadership of the global diamond industry.

The conference was opened by Israel Diamond Exchange President Boaz Moldawsky, who said, “Our industry is currently facing many challenges that directly affect the market situation and the demand for our goods. We believe that your participation testifies to the appreciation and trust that the Israel Diamond Exchange has gained from around the world.”

The President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog sent a video message praising the contribution of the diamond industry to Israel’s economy. The audience was also treated to a behind-the-scenes talk about Israel’s national vision and international geo-political situation by former Mossad director, Yossi Cohen.

In addition, that same day, David Kellie, CEO of the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), presented a lecture titled “Are industry values really important to today’s consumer” at the Ramat Gan Diamond Exchange.
