GJEPC’s Gem & Jewellery Buyer-Seller Meet A Resounding Success!

Oct 04, 2023

The two-day Gem & Jewellery Buyer-Seller Meet by GJEPC held exclusively for international buyers exceeded all expectations.

The Gem and Jewellery Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) at ITC Grand Maratha, Mumbai, held on September 29th and 30th, 2023, and organised by GJEPC, concluded on a remarkable high. This event witnessed exhibitors and buyers participating in highly productive one-on-one meetings, leading to the establishment of valuable new business connections.

Curated exclusively for 30 international buyers hailing from the US, the UAE, Egypt, Germany, Lebanon, Panama and Saudi Arabia, the show had a total of 16 exhibitors, who showcased extensive offerings, including high-end fine diamond jewellery, loose diamonds, and silver jewellery.

The BSM hosted a diverse group of attendees, including prominent chain retailers, wholesalers, importers, leading designers, distributors, and retail jewellers from around the world. This event showcased a comprehensive overview of the Indian jewellery industry.

Ali Pastorini, President & Founder, Mubri Association, expressed her admiration for the craftsmanship of the jewellery products, perfectly aligned with the preferences of the buyers. She noted that Indian manufacturers have been consistently offering aesthetically designed collections at competitive prices, which she considered a significant advantage.

Kartik Mehta of Asian Star Co. Ltd., said, “We had an exceptional experience at the G&J BSM! Not only were we delighted with the quality of buyers, but we were also pleased to engage with a diverse group from various regions, which added depth to our interactions. While the majority of buyers were from the US, we also had the privilege of meeting buyers from other regions who brought their unique perspectives and preferences. It was positive to see the international appeal of our manufacturing industry. Our offerings seemed to resonate with the buyers as they appreciated our production quality and variety. Their enthusiasm for our products was heartening. Overall, our participation in the BSM Show was a success, and we look forward to future such opportunities.”

Vivek Shah, Founder, Karma Enterprises, spent two very busy days at the show. “We met many buyers from the USA and other countries as well including Canada, Lebanon, Egypt, Panama. We are known for our high quality and contemporary silver jewellery and buyers liked our distinct style. We look forward to a larger diamond Jewellery BSM in Mumbai next year, with a greater number of buyers hopefully also from the UK, France, and Spain. Both Mumbai and Surat are one of the largest hubs of Diamond trading in the world, this is a very special BSM which needs to be expanded further,” an enthusiastic Shah recommended.

Bhavesh Gorasiya, Founder, GNS Jewellery, too, had an exciting show. He met many prospective clients from the US with queries for the line-up of exceptional diamond rings and jewellery crafted with technical finesse. “The two days were truly rewarding and productive,” he remarked.

Simran Colin Shah of Kama Jewelry stated that it was amazing to meet so many customers. “The curation of buyers was well done, and we had several meetings with independents, retail stores, and wholesalers. It was a good mix of serious buyers, who had come with the mindset to buy. This offered us a good opportunity to do business with some of them.”

A spokesperson of Arjiv Exports highlighted the strong interest generated by the loose diamond layouts at their booth. They mentioned receiving considerable appreciation for their fancy-cut diamonds, particularly featuring step cuts, indicating a trending demand for such shapes.
