Recently, India announced, Gem & Jewellery (GJ) export for the period April 2023 – November 2023 as compared to same period last year. In the Cut & Polished (C/P) Diamonds category for the April 2023 – November 2023, the overall gross Exports of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 11063.62 million (Rs. 91455.94 crores) is showing a decline of 27.95% (-24.79% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 15355.09 million (Rs. 121602.56 crores) for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports for the period April 2023 – November 2023 of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 1241.15 million (Rs. 10274.36 crores) is showing a growth of 31.51% (37.24% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 943.76 million (Rs. 7486.18 crores) for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports for the period April 2023 – November 2023 of Cut & Polished diamonds in DTA at US$ 269.41 million (Rs. 2225.39 crores) is showing a Decline of -18.8 (-15.61% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 331.77(Rs 2636.97crores) for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ at US$ 971.74 million (Rs. 8048.97 crores) is showing a Growth of 58.78(65.99% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 611.99(Rs 4849.21 crores) for the same period of previous year.
