OROAREZZO 2023: the winners of the 32ND edition of the Premiere Competition

Oroarezzo 2023 has announced the winners of the 32nd edition of PREMIÈRE, the competition that celebrates the jewel that best expresses the excellence of Made in Italy gold and jewelry manufacture. The event promotes the profound link between jewelry, style and fashion to enhance the legacy of creativity and savoir faire of the goldsmith tradition in Arezzo and the Italian districts.

56 creations, presented by exhibiting companies were in the running and are on display in a special installation that welcomes international buyers to the halls of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi at the Italian Exhibition Group event ongoing until tomorrow, Tuesday 16th May.

THE WINNERS

13 creations were awarded yesterday evening at the Sugar showroom in Arezzo. The best expressions of the theme of LIGHT proposed by Beppe Angiolini, honorary president of the National Chamber of Fashion Buyers, Oroarezzo ambassador and art director, were: MORAGLIONE 1922, QUADRIFOGLIO, F.A. GIOIELLI, ARTLINEA, ANIMA, SILVER LIGHT GROUP, GOBI PREZIOSI, VENEROSO, DANIELA NERI, GRAZIELLA BRACCIALINI, GIORDINI, UNOAERRE INDUSTRIES, ALUNNO & CO. Special mention for D’ORICA.

“Let’s try to surprise and be surprised” was Angiolini’s invitation. Therefore, maximum creative freedom for the companies that were able to compete with bracelets, necklaces and rings in the most varied designs, shapes and volumes, but all with the shared capacity to represent the luminous power of jewelry under the banner of style, workmanship and the ability to innovate that characterize Italian manufacturing.

TALENTS UNDER 30: ITALIAN STYLE WINS

MARTA D’AMBROSIO, a student at the Istituto Tecnico Professionale Orafo Arezzo (the Arezzo Technical School for Goldsmiths) won the TALENTS category with her “Luce è vita” necklace. Composed of a luxuriant radial element with an opal cabochon in the center from which smooth rays of yellow gold alternate with those of white gold studded with bright stones of various colors, according to the jury, “it is a typical example of jewelry that characterizes the most refined examples of Italian Style”.

Thanks to the collaboration of manufacturing partners in the Arezzo district, the winner will be able to see her creative idea become a reality.

The new category for aspiring goldsmiths under 30 involved three classes from the Master in Jewelry History, Design and Marketing of the University of Siena – Campus of Arezzo, the Margaritone Technical

Professional Institute and the Liceo Statale Piero della Francesca, both from Arezzo, for a total of 15 designs, on display during the four days of the show. A new entry that aims to support new talents and encourage direct contact with companies in order to make it easier to enter the sector and embark on a professional career.

THE JURY

Judging the precious creations on display at Oroarezzo was a jury chaired by Beppe Angiolini whose members were journalist, writer and podcaster Mariella Milani, who also presented the event, Rai 1 fashion journalist Paola Cacianti, stylists Eva Cavalli and Ermanno Scervino, the founder of Donna Jewel Laura Inghirami, jewelry blogger Blingsiscom, stylists Simone Furlan and Riccardo Maria Chiacchio, and stylist and influencer Michela D’Angelo.
