Zimbabwe School of Mines spearheads the integration of Robotics and AI as part of students’ learning initiatives as public lectures and Robotics and AI fairs were conducted around the school.
The main focus for this drive is to equip students with skills to meet the industry 5th generation mining methods and systems. AI in Mining by Vision-AI Representative Larnston Gowera, to Mining and Mine Ventilation & Environmental Engineering students on Friday 8th September 2023 explained the future of Mining with Robotics & AI.
To strengthen this initiative, Corporates in AI and Robotics such as Sciency MecaLabs were invited to the school to demonstrate to ZSM students on programming, robotics, and augmented realities as applied in the Mining Industry.
The Zimbabwe School of Mines is a unique, dynamic and vibrant mining training Institution that was formed by a Presidential Charter in 1994 although its existence dates back to 1926 where it was operating from Gifford High School.
The Project was one of the most instrumental projects in the development of Zimbabwe School of Mines and equipped the School with the training equipment which made it the best equipped mining training institution in Africa.
