We aim to be more than just a manufacturer—we strive to be a trusted business partner for our retailers by offering trend-driven collections, reliable service and solutions that help them grow their business – K. SRINIVASAN, CMD Emerald Jewel Industry Limited

1) Emerald Jewel Industry has built a strong reputation in India’s jewellery sector. What are the key priorities driving the company’s growth strategy over the next few years?

At Emerald, our growth strategy is driven by continuous innovation, manufacturing excellence and a strong commitment to our dealer partners. We believe that the future of the jewellery industry lies in creating products that combine superior design, commercial viability and efficient manufacturing.

Our focus is on developing innovative collections through advanced manufacturing technologies, expanding our design capabilities and strengthening our product portfolio across different consumer segments. We are also committed to enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining the highest quality standards and delivering faster turnaround times.

Most importantly, we aim to be more than just a manufacturer—we strive to be a trusted business partner for our retailers by offering trend-driven collections, reliable service and solutions that help them grow their business.

2) Consumer preferences are evolving rapidly. What major trends are you seeing in jewellery design, purchasing behaviour, and retail demand?

6. Modern Jewel G 3 HQToday’s consumers are looking for jewellery that is versatile, lightweight and meaningful. They want designs that can seamlessly transition from everyday wear to special occasions while reflecting their personal style.

We are witnessing strong demand for contemporary designs with traditional influences, lightweight statement jewellery, modular collections and pieces that offer both elegance and practicality. Consumers are also becoming more design-conscious and are increasingly valuing craftsmanship, finishing and uniqueness over sheer metal weight.

From a retail perspective, jewellers are seeking collections that offer faster inventory turnover, wider consumer appeal and better profitability. This makes innovation and market-driven product development more important than ever.

Natural diamonds continue to hold a timeless appeal because of their rarity, authenticity and emotional significance. They remain the preferred choice for milestone occasions, celebrations and heirloom jewellery.

While lab-grown diamonds have created a new segment within the industry, we believe both categories will coexist by serving different consumer preferences. Consumers seeking long-term emotional and intrinsic value will continue to choose natural diamonds, while others may explore lab-grown alternatives for different occasions.

The fine jewellery market in India continues to grow, driven by increasing disposable incomes, greater design awareness and stronger consumer confidence. We remain optimistic about the long-term future of natural diamonds and premium fine jewellery.

We believe manufacturers who combine innovation, design excellence, efficient production and consistent quality will lead the industry’s next phase of growth. Retailers are increasingly looking for dependable partners who can deliver differentiated products and business value.

At Emerald, we are excited about the opportunity to continue innovating, expanding our manufacturing capabilities and strengthening our partnerships with retailers across India and global markets. Our vision is to create jewellery that not only delights consumers but also contributes to the sustainable growth of the jewellery industry.
