Recently released export-import (Exim) performance for India’s Cut & Polished diamonds for the period of April 2023 to February 2024 suggest that exports of C&P diamonds fall & C&P polished diamonds import jumped YoY!
The overall gross Exports of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 14801.84 million (Rs. 122457.21 crores) is showing a decline of 27.59% (-25.1% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 20440.98 million (Rs. 163498.6 crores) for the same period that is from April to February of previous year or say, Year over Year (YoY).
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 1789.66 million (Rs. 14835.58 crores) is showing a growth of 46.96% (52.29% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 1217.75 million (Rs. 9741.58 crores) for the same period, April to February of previous year.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in DTA at US$ 401.39 million (Rs. 3322.73 crores) is showing a Decline of -10.17 (-7.27% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 446.83(Rs 3583.34crores) for the same period of April 2023 to February 2024
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ at US$ 1388.27 million (Rs. 11512.85 crores) is showing a Growth of 80.08(86.95% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 770.92(Rs 6158.24 crores) for the same period of April 2023 to February 2024.
Gross Imports of rough diamonds at US$ 12858.70 million (Rs 106354.28 crores) in April 2023 to February 2024 have shown a decline of 18.18% (-15.44% Rs. term) compared with the imports at US$ 15715.46 million (Rs. 125771.2 crores) for previous year.
In volume terms gross Import of rough diamonds at 1137.56 lakhs carats during April 2023 to February 2024 has shown a decline of 5.70% compared with the imports at 1206.35 lakhs carats during previous year.
Provisional gross export of Polished Lab Grown Diamonds for the period April 2023 to February 2024 at US$ 1278.34 million (in Rs. 10582.28 crores) shows decline of 18.51% (-15.68% in Rs. term) over the comparative figure of US$ 1568.71 million (Rs. 12550.62 crores) for previous year.
