Sustainability and social responsibility have always been at the heart of meetings organised by CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation.
Topics under discussion on Sunday 8th September will be the prospects of using recycled gold (in a talk in collaboration with the World Gold Council), traceability in the various jewellery sectors, the growing gap between the natural diamond and lab-grown diamond markets and the industry’s role in protecting biodiversity (in an event in collaboration with the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030).
Speakers will include Iris Van der Veken, executive director for the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030; Francesca Manfredi, head of innovation for Watches & Jewellery at Kering; Tai Wong, director of global innovation & product development at Platinum Guild International.
Raluca Anghel, head of external and industry relations for the Natural Diamond Council; John Mulligan, director of market relations & climate change lead for the World Gold Council and chairman of CIBJO’s sustainable development committee; and Edward Johnson, corporate responsibility director at Gemfields Group.
On Thursday 5th September, CIBJO will also be collaborating in the organisation of the IPMI – International
Precious Metals Institute’s training seminar, to be held on the day before the opening of Vicenzaoro September, during which precious metals and jewellery will be discussed with experts and industry stakeholders.
