Retailers from across the globe are returning home from the 2024 Vegas jewelry show with wonderful excitement and enthusiasm for a successful 2nd half of the year. The year’s show was filled with positive energy and customers came to visit, buy and learn.
GN Diamond is always appreciative of the many customers who stop by the booth. This year the hot sellers were large, natural diamonds from 2.00 cts to 3.99 cts in fancy shapes and rounds. Elongated radiants and cushions were popular, ovals are still the second most stocked shape with rounds consistently being at the forefront.
Classic, natural diamond studs in all sizes were a big seller as retailers prepare to stock its shelves for the second half of 2024. Jewelers and wholesalers are encouraged to see the return in popularity of natural diamonds. This trend is also supported by DeBeers who will stop creating lab-grown diamonds for its Lightbox jewelry brand.
Although there is still a place for lab-grown diamonds and diamond jewelry, it is important to present natural diamonds first as lab grown diamond pricing and interests diminish. In addition, this is a great time for retailers to analyze its inventory and make sure they are well stocked in loose diamonds ranging from ¾ cts to 2 ½ cts from si1 to i1 in common shapes.
