No limits to creativity, design, shape and volume; the only requirement is the luminous power of jewelry. Light is the theme of the Première contest with which Oroarezzo 2023, the Italian Exhibition Group event specifically for gold, silver and jewelry manufacturing, scheduled to take place at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi in the Italian city of Arezzo from 13th to 16th May, will be celebrating Made in Italy production and creative excellence.
Now at its 32nd edition, Première sees the continuation of the partnership with Beppe Angiolini, honorary president of the National Chamber of Fashion Buyers and Oroarezzo ambassador: a project passionately pursued over the years, promoting the profound link between jewelry, style and fashion in order to enhance the heritage of creativity and savoir faire that the goldsmith tradition of Arezzo and the other Italian districts, represent.
In launching this year’s theme, Angiolini highlighted the inspiration of «absolute freedom, creativity and relationship with contemporaneity. A philosophy based more on personal style, similar to what happens in fashion, which, with each collection, reinvents itself and rediscovers traditions and roots while always aiming at the future. I think that, after years of great difficulty, both in commercial and, above all, human terms, this is the current need. To look for the imagination, value, hope, rebirth, innovation and recognisability each one holds».
THE PREMIERE 2023 THEME: JEWELRY INSPIRED BY LIGHT
Fine or bulky, rigid or flexible, classic or modern, coloured or monochrome. The new edition of the Première contest will assess projects and productions of jewelry of any type, style, design, workmanship and size without setting limits on the creativity and inspiration of each competing company and participant: the only requirement is the light that the jewelry must be able to express. An intriguing challenge for master goldsmiths and designers, who can therefore present their idea of precious with the utmost freedom.
«The theme of LIGHT is as fascinating and free as possible. We have all kinds of materials at our disposal, from traditional gold, silver and precious stones to unexplored inventions of new products and extraordinary designs. Let’s try to surprise and be surprised», Angiolini suggests.
OROAREZZO COMPANIES IN COMPETITION
Première draws the attention of the industry at every edition, turning the spotlight on the know-how of the exhibiting companies whose creations give shape to the very best qualities in national gold and jewelry. Competition entries, expressions of style, manufacturing skills and creativity which will be exhibited for the entire duration of the Oroarezzo event, will be accepted up until 21st April.
“TALENTS”, THE LATEST ADDITION: PREMIÈRE OPENS TO STUDENTS
For the first time, the Première showcase welcomes designs by students from goldsmith schools. The jewelry designs of aspiring young goldsmiths will be on display alongside that of the exhibiting companies and will be able to compete in the unprecedented “Talents” category with projects on any theme. An update of the contest that will offer tomorrow’s most deserving creatives the opportunity to see their idea produced, thanks to the collaboration of manufacturing partners in the Arezzo district. With the new Talents category, Oroarezzo looks to the future and aims to support new talents, promoting direct contact with companies and the encounter between supply and demand for young people who intend to embark on a career in the gold sector. A sector that offers ever-increasing professional opportunities: according to Confindustria Federorafi surveys, the demand for new employees and generational turnover in the next five years is close to 8/10% of the total current workforce.
