GJ exports India fall over 20% in 3Q

Leibish Illustrative 1According to the available figures for the Gem & Jewellery (GJ) exports for the month of December 2023 & April-December 2023, India is facing the geo political & global economic weaknesses. The overall gross exports of Gems & Jewellery at US$ 2195.23 million (Rs. 18281.49 crores) in the month of December 2023 is showing a decline of 9.04% (-8.14% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 2413.46 million (Rs. 19901.55 crores) for the same period previous year.

The overall gross imports of Gems & Jewellery at US$ 2092.34 million (Rs. 17419.41 crores) in month of December 2023 is showing a decline of 7.58% (-6.84% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 2264.04 million (Rs. 18697.98 crores) for the same period previous year.

The overall gross exports of Gems & Jewellery for the period of April-December 2023 registered at US$ 22707.88 million (Rs. 187993.93 crores) is showing a decline of 20.78% (-17.55% in Rs term) as compared to US$ 28664.98 million (Rs. 228003.18 crores) for the same period previous year.

The overall gross imports of Gems & Jewellery during the April-December 2023 totaled at US$ 15590.259 million (Rs. 128985.13 crores) is showing a decline of 22.43% (-19.41% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 20097.21 million (Rs. 160049.92 crores) for the same period previous year.
