Alrosa fulfils production guidelines for 2023

12Alrosa, the Russian diamond producer, accomplished its 2023 diamond production target entirely by extracting 34.6 million carats, a slight dip from the previous year’s 35.6 million carats, according to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) government, referencing Alrosa CEO Pavel Marinychev.

The company’s statement highlighted its unwavering commitment despite adverse external conditions, achieving a full 100% of the diamond production goal. Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, lauded Alrosa’s performance this year, emphasizing its status as the primary revenue-generating industrial entity in the republic and meeting all production benchmarks for 2023.

Yakutia’s government expressed optimism regarding Alrosa’s contributions, noting the distribution of dividends to shareholders after a two-year hiatus. Anticipations are high that the company’s revenues to the republic’s budget will surpass initial forecasts and the previous year’s figures.

Alrosa operates in Yakutia and the Arkhangelsk Region, engaging in diamond exploration, production, sales of rough diamonds, and jewelry manufacturing. Ownership structures entail the Russian Federation holding 33.03% of shares, Yakutia with 25%, and regions of operation owning 8%, with approximately 34% of shares in circulation.
