The overall gross exports of cut & polished diamonds of India totaled for the period of April-October 2023 at US$ 9963.53 million (Rs. 82238.07 crores) is showing a decline of 29.37% (-26.18% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 14106.67 million (Rs. 111400.01 crores) for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross imports of cut & polished diamonds at US$ 975.86 million (Rs. 8063.95 crores) is showing a growth for the period April-October 2023, of 17.29% (22.65% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 832.02 million (Rs. 6574.67 crores) for the same period of previous year.
The overall gross imports of cut & polished diamonds in DTA that totaled for the period of April-October 2023 at US$ 246.81 million (Rs. 2037.16 crores) is showing a Decline of -12.82 (-9.03% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 283.11(Rs 2239.26crores) for the same period of APR 2023 – OCT 2023.
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ totaled at US$ 729.05 million (Rs. 6026.79 crores), for the period of April-October 2023, is showing a Growth of 32.82(39.01% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 548.91(Rs 4335.42 crores) for the same period of APR 2023 – OCT 2023.
At the Rough Diamonds front, for the period of April-October 2023, India’s import remained a low. Gross Imports of rough diamonds at US$ 8479.62 million (Rs 69954.93 crores) in April-October 2023 have shown a decline of 18.1% (-14.34% Rs. term) compared with the imports at US$ 10354.01 million (Rs. 81669.65 crores) for previous year.
In volume terms gross Import of rough diamonds at 716.75 lakhs carats during April-October 2023 has shown a decline of 2.390% compared with the imports at 734.33 lakhs carats during previous year.
Provisional gross export of Polished Lab Grown Diamonds for the period of April-October 2023at US$ 832.36 million (in Rs. 6874.35 crores) shows decline of 25.84% (-22.6% in Rs. term) over the comparative figure of US$ 1122.37 million (Rs. 8882.0 crores) for previous year.
Provisional gross export of Coloured Gemstones for the period April-October 2023 at US$ 300.25 million (in Rs. 2479.1 crores) shows growth of 23.72% (29.21% in Rs. term) over the comparative figure of US$ 242.68 million (Rs. 1918.58 crores) for previous year.
