NDC’s CEO David Kellie delivers keynote at Kimberley Process (KP) Plenary, At Dubai Diamond Conference (DMCC). This has been an important week for the diamond industry with DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) and Kimberley Process Chair, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, hosting both the Dubai Diamond Conference and the Kimberley Process Plenary.
One of the key topics on the agenda has been the urgent need for the industry to come together to fund the marketing and promotion of natural diamonds.
For the first time since the founding of the Kimberley Process, the diamond centres of Dubai (DMCC), Antwerp (Antwerp World Diamond Centre) and India (The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (India) have pledged to work together, along other key constituents in the industry, on a singular topic and to urgently resolve the requirement for investment in generic diamond marketing.
“We look forward to continuing the conversation in two weeks at the Facets diamond conference hosted by Antwerp World Diamond Centre,” shared NDC’s CEO David Kellie. “My gratitude goes to Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Kimberley Process Chair, for the invitation to speak at the Kimberley Process Plenary.
