AWDC hosted the second edition of the AWDC Town Hall. During these Town Hall meetings, “we shed a light on our past achievements, projects we are currently working on and future endeavors” said AWDC. The meeting deliberated, The AWDC Management Team presented various topics during the 50-minute-long meeting. These were the main points discussed:
1: Trade Figures: We shared the trade figures for first five months of 2025 and compared them to last year’s, and placed them in their international context.
2: Projects & Activities: We updated you on the progress of the AWDC Helpdesk for industry-related questions and additional digital services including an AI chatbot, Rocky, on our website, a job platform connecting companies and candidates, and a step-by-step visa guide for Indian nationals.
3: We Protect A Legacy: We proudly look back on the launch of the We Protect A Legacy campaign, which was created to promote Antwerp’s role in natural diamond trading and raise awareness of the differences between natural and synthetic diamonds. The campaign included a public activation at the Stadsfeestzaal, ambassador visuals, educational guides, and received wide national and international media coverage.
4: Global Funding Effort: We have taken the lead on a global marketing initiative to promote natural diamonds, proposing a funding model at the source level, with strong industry backing and recognition for Antwerp’s role. These efforts resulted in the signing of the Luanda Accord.
5: External Affairs: We then discussed our efforts towards establishing sustainable relationships with key political stakeholders, in Belgium and abroad, to tackle ongoing policy challenges in the industry.
6: Diamond Office: We spoke on the efficiency review of the Diamond Office that was conducted, and the impact of various sanctions on Diamond Office was visually presented.
7: Compliance: We touched on the new risk assessment platform to replace the well-known Bureau Van Dijk Compliance Catalyst: KYCP by Aqubix. This platform offers the same features, like company information and risk assessment, as well as many new ones. Once the platform is live, we will be sharing additional info with you.
