GJEPC organised an informative outreach session on the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) scheme that was attended by around 100 participants, including exporters and trade facilitators, with 80 joining online and 20 attending in person at the Jhandewalan office in New Delhi.
Shri Amit Kumar Gupta, Joint Commissioner, Directorate of International Customs, delivered the keynote address, shedding light on various aspects of the AEO framework. He explained the application process, certification tiers (T1, T2, T3), and the documentation required for enrolment. He also highlighted the benefits of AEO certification, such as simplified customs procedures, reduced bank guarantees, and faster cargo clearance, all of which help streamline international trade operations.
The session featured an interactive Q&A segment, where Shri Gupta responded to queries on eligibility, timelines, and coordination with customs authorities. He reiterated the government’s commitment to facilitating ease of doing business through progressive trade initiatives like the AEO.
