The American Gem Society has introduced the Advanced Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ACGA) credential, now open to all members, raising benchmarks in appraisal expertise and professional practice. Wade Abel, Director of Education and Gemology at the American Gem Society, said the programme reflects member-driven updates and positions appraisers with a new advanced credential.
Eligibility includes holding CGA for three years, appraisal experience, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) training, Accredited Gem Lab maintenance, ethical compliance, and annual recertification. AGS will provide promotional support tools for credential holders.
“The ACGA is the result of a member-informed evolution of our advanced appraisal credentialing,” said Abel. “It positions AGS appraisers with one of the newest and most advanced credentials in the industry.”
