Magadan witnessed a key meeting today as Alrosa executives, led by First Deputy CEO Sergey Pavlenko, convened with Governor Sergey Nosov and regional government leaders to advance their gold mining partnership. The focal point of the discussions was the Degdekanskoye Ore Field project, a significant gold deposit located in the Tenkinsky District.
Almazy Anabara, an Alrosa subsidiary, is spearheading the development of this deposit. The meeting served as a platform to review the project’s progress and explore strategies for maximizing its resource potential. Notably, the project is anticipated to generate approximately 1,000 new employment opportunities within the region.
The Magadan government expressed strong support for the Degdekanskoye endeavor, emphasizing its importance for the region’s economic growth. To streamline the project’s implementation, both parties agreed to establish a joint working group. This collaborative approach underscores the commitment to realizing the potential of the gold deposit.
This meeting builds upon the foundation laid by the Cooperation Agreement signed between Alrosa and the Magadan Region at the Eastern Economic Forum in September 2024, solidifying their strategic partnership in the mining sector.
