CaratLane, India’s leading omni-channel jewellery brand, along with its silver label, Shaya, today announced the winners of Designathon, a global platform launched to discover and nurture the next generation of creative visionaries. With the theme “Design for a Better Tomorrow – Shaping Futures,” the initiative drew over 700 entries from across the globe, challenging designers to bridge the gap between aesthetic beauty and environmental consciousness.
Design has always been the heartbeat of CaratLane; a medium to tell stories, spark emotion, and create impact. Through Designathon, CaratLane and Shaya have reinforced their position as design leaders by opening doors for upcoming talent to express their unique voices while addressing real-world issues.

Out of 700+ submissions, 30 designers were shortlisted for their ability to translate the theme into wearable art. A prestigious international jury evaluated the entries based on originality, intention, wearability, commercial viability, and aesthetic brilliance.
The distinguished jury panel included: Shimul Mehta Vyas – Practitioner, Author, & Design Educator, Lia Di Gregorio – LDG Atelier, Milan, Italy, Preeta Agarwal – Digital Creator, Jewellery Advisor, & Influencer, and Meghna Jhaveri – Director Merchandise & Design, CaratLane.
The winners of Designathon represent a diverse group of designers who successfully connected high-quality craftsmanship with a vision for a better tomorrow. Janvi Kesarwani from Prayagraj was named the overall winner for her design, Ashborn, receiving a grand prize of $5,000. She was followed by the first runner-up, Golnaz Etemadi from Iran, who was awarded $3,000 for her evocative piece, Earth Ablaze. The competition also recognised three exceptional second runners-up, each receiving $1,500: Garima Jain from Jaipur for the Tectonic Cuff, Rudrani Sharma from Jaipur for VerdAura, and Tanya Suman from Delhi for Kshaya.
In addition to the cash prizes, all five winners received trophies and certificates in recognition of their exceptional contributions to jewellery design. By fostering this community of creators, CaratLane and Shaya continue to push the boundaries of everyday expression and ensure that the future of the industry is both bright and responsible.
