Twin jewellery shows organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open in early March. As the world’s largest one-stop jewellery marketplace, the fairs offer a comprehensive sourcing platform covering the entire jewellery supply chain — from rough diamonds, loose stones and pearls to finished jewellery, designer brands, as well as mounting components, packaging, testing instruments and technologies.
The 12th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will be held from 2 to 6 March at AsiaWorld-Expo, while the 42nd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will take place from 4 to 8 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. The twin jewellery shows will continue to adopt the “Two shows, Two venues” format, bringing together some 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions.
This year’s twin jewellery shows will feature over 40 regional and industry pavilions. Among the some 4,000 exhibitors, more than 30% are from Hong Kong, while nearly 70% come from outside Hong Kong. Exhibitors from Brazil, the United Arab Emirates and India have expanded their participation, and Uzbekistan will make its debut at the fairs.
On the industry front, 11 exhibitors including the World Gold Council will, for the first time, set up a Hard Pure Gold Pavilion at the Jewellery Show to showcase Hard Pure Gold, an innovative gold manufacturing technology, to the international market. The Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association will also debut its pavilion at the Jewellery Show, highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship behind jewellery timepieces. In addition, the Zhushan Turquoise Pavilion from Hubei will participate in the fairs for the first time.
The twin jewellery shows enable buyers to source rare and exceptional jewellery pieces, diamonds, gemstones, jadeite and pearls from around the world, while also bringing together outstanding design, innovative concepts, and cultural and creative inspirations from different regions.
This year, the Hall of Fame at the Jewellery Show has expanded by over 40% compared to last year. Creative design-related zones will also be a key highlight. The Designer Galleria has attracted a number of Korean designers this year.
Together with the Young Jewellery Designer Arena, which features the Asia Pacific Creator Association, as well as the Asia Jewelry Culture Design and Crafts Association Limited, the creative design zones will feature some 50 exhibitors in total.
The Tanzanite Foundation and the International Colored Gemstone Association are also returning with pavilions. The Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association is once again setting up the T-GOLD+METS pavilion together with the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), featuring jewellery-making machinery and technologies.
