GJEPC’s Surat Regional Office organised a meeting of industry association heads with Shri Sumit Kumar, IRS, Principal Additional Director General, Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS).
DGTS is mandated to enhance taxpayer services through monitoring service centres and helplines, conducting feedback surveys, ensuring policy implementation, and engaging with industry for effective outreach.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Surat Diamond Association, Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association, Surat Jewellers Association, Lab Grown Diamond Association, Association of Chartered Accountants (Western Zone), along with leading industry CAs.
Key issues highlighted included GST credit accumulation, IGST refund delays, enforcement-related concerns, seizure of goods in consignment-based transfers, and customs duty refund challenges.
Shri Sumit Kumar assured the industry that the concerns would be duly examined, and appropriate steps would be taken for resolution.
