Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet 2026: Re-capping Key Highlights and the Road Ahead

Jul 24, 2026

Platinum Buyer Seller MeetThe Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet 2026 hosted in Kochi earlier this month brought together 10 manufacturers, over 70 retailers and key industry partners for two days of focused exchange on product innovation, evolving consumer demand and the next phase of growth for platinum jewellery in India.

This year the Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet reinforced that sustained category growth requires every part of the value chain to work together, from creating relevant designs and ensuring product availability to improving replenishment and conversion at the retail counter.

The primary objective of the platform has continued to be to foster alignment between manufacturers and retailers around evolving consumer demand, product innovation, assortment planning and market expansion.

A connected strategy for category growth

At the meet, Platinum Guild International presented a way forward for the platinum jewellery category, conceived as a connected growth engine rather than a single campaign or brand initiative. Its objective – to bring more consumers, more purchase occasions and greater demand into the platinum jewellery category.

This growth agenda will be driven through PGI’s three consumer-facing platforms:

Platinum Evara, expanding platinum’s relevance across women’s self-purchase, gifting, self-expression and everyday style.

Platinum Love Bands, strengthening platinum’s association with commitment and wedding-related purchase occasions.

Men of Platinum, expanding the men’s platinum jewellery category across both statement pieces and design-forward everyday jewellery.

Responding to the evolving consumer

A key discussion at the meet was the need to translate changing consumer attitudes into commercially relevant products. Younger consumers increasingly choose jewellery to express their identity, relationships, personal achievements and individual style, rather than viewing it only as adornment.

Platinum’s 95% purity, rarity and inherent strength provide a strong foundation for products that combine precious value with contemporary design.

The meet  spotlighted several priorities to help bolster platinum jewellery demand over the coming seasons:

Everyday relevance for women: Creator-led styling and lighter, stackable designs will help position Platinum Evara beyond occasion-led purchases.

Faster conversion for couples: A new Platinum Love Bands collection and campaign are planned for the November 2026 wedding season, supported by consumer research involving more than 200 participants across India. A proposed 10-day delivery promise will help retailers convert high-intent customers more efficiently.

Growth in men’s jewellery: The category expansion by Men of Platinum will address an established cohort seeking statement jewellery, as well as younger men looking for contemporary, everyday platinum jewellery.

Material innovation: The AI-enabled Inoveo platinum alloy is expected to support new design possibilities, manufacturing innovation and the development of durable machine-made chains.

Together, these priorities reflect a broader shift towards a more connected category-building approach, one that links consumer insight, product innovation, retail readiness and stronger trade collaboration.
