Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) mourns the passing of Shri Vasant Mehta, a distinguished industry veteran, visionary leader and a respected voice of the global diamond, gems and jewellery sector.
Shri Mehta was a former Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), serving the Council twice, in 2008 and 2010. He also served as Vice President of the International Diamond Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) and was an active member of the Kimberley Process (KP).
Shri Vasant Mehta was the Past Managing Committee member of Bharat Diamond Bourse from 1990 to 1996
His visionary leadership, wisdom and commitment to the industry earned him immense respect across the diamond and jewellery fraternity. He was widely regarded as a true guide, always willing to contribute, and work towards the larger interest of the sector. Bharat Diamond Bourse, along with the entire gem and jewellery community, deeply mourns the loss of this great leader.
