SGL has launched a new platform where retailers can buy diamonds with a grade guarantee. A new concept and an industry first where even parcels are sold online with each diamond carrying a laser inscription and a dossier report.
A dedicated website www.SGLcertified.com is where retailers can register to access the portal and see the pre-certified diamond inventory. Diamonds ranging from 0.08 cts up to 0.39 cts are available on the portal and all purchases carry a 14 day claim window for any grade discrepancies for a guaranteed money back policy.
“Retailers usually pay a premium of 12-18% depending on the criteria for dossier diamonds vs the non- certified version of the diamonds and this where we saw opportunity on bringing down the humongous dossier costs to offer extremely competitive diamonds on our portal” said Chirag Soni, Co-Founder & Director – SGL
This new concept challenges the traditional marketplace where any seller can upload their diamonds and list them at their prices. SGL has approved handful of diamond cutters and polishers who send their diamonds to SGL first and only upon those diamonds passing through a 100 parameter check that they are approved to be listed on the portal.

The portal also provides an option to convert the dossier certificates to a single product jewellery report at a flat fee. Another move that will take away the hassle of managing multiple dossier reports for custom made jewellery. This new concept will change industry dynamics for diamonds under 0.50 cts and the way these diamonds are bought and sold on the marketplace today.
