IIG South, an education wing of Laxmi Diamonds Bangalore hosted its grand 4th Convocation Ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangalore marking yet another milestone in its journey of empowering the next generation of jewellery professionals.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman of the Joyalukkas Group, as the Chief Guest, and Shri. Samruddhi V Manjunath, CMD – SiriSamruddhi Gold Palace Pvt. Ltd. & Honorable Member of the Legislative Assembly, Govt. of Karnataka, as the Guest of Honor. Their presence, along with other distinguished dignitaries, parents, alumni, and graduating students, made the occasion a grand success.

* 220 Graduates Honoured:
A proud moment as 220 students graduated across different programs. Alumni who have already established their own brands showcased their entrepreneurial journeys by putting up stalls at the venue — a shining example of how IIG South students are transforming knowledge into thriving careers.
* Book Launch – Spreading Joy
The launch of “Spreading Joy” in Bengaluru, the autobiography of Dr. Joy Alukkas, was held during the convocation. Each student received a personally signed copy, making the day even more memorable.
* Launch of New Academic Program:
A landmark moment as IIG South unveiled its new Voc in Gems & Jewellery Design degree program, in collaboration with Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, officially launched by Dr. Easwaran S Iyer, Vice Chancellor of Jain University.
* Coffee with Chetan Kumar Mehta – 15th Edition:
The much-awaited 15th episode of the “Coffee with Chetan Kumar Mehta” series was held, featuring an engaging conversation with Dr. Joy Alukkas, who shared insights into his inspiring journey of building one of the world’s most respected jewellery brands.
Showcase of Creativity & Excellence:
The event also featured an impressive display of manual jewellery sketches, manufactured ornaments, and award-winning masterpieces by students. The exhibition highlighted the institute’s commitment to fostering creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation.
