GJEPC Commences 2nd & 3rd Training Batches of ‘Becoming Exporters’ under EMP

Nov 04, 2025

1764933003 EMP 7GJEPC commenced the 2nd and 3rd batches of its 45-day Online Exporter Mentorship Program (EMP) with an Orientation Session held on 1st November 2025, attended by 97 registered participants.

The program is designed to guide aspiring entrepreneurs through every step of starting and managing a successful export business. It helps participants understand export fundamentals, identify potential products and target markets, learn documentation and logistics processes, and take advantage of government schemes and incentives for MSMEs.

Initially planned for 40 participants, the EMP saw an overwhelming response with nearly 100 registrations, leading GJEPC to split it into two batches to ensure effective engagement and learning.

Structured over six weeks, the EMP curriculum spans five modules and 15–16 sessions, conducted two to three times a week. The course combines knowledge sessions, practical training, query-handling forums, and industry-led masterclasses. Topics include export potential and readiness, product selection, export procedures and documentation, International Contract Terms, payment systems, trade finance, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Participants will also learn about MSME policy incentives, e-commerce exports, and opportunities through GJEPC’s global platforms such as IJEX and international trade shows.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, shared the Council’s vision of positioning India as the preferred global sourcing destination for gems and jewellery. He emphasised that the EMP adopts a 360-degree mentorship approach aimed at transforming non-exporters into exporters by building their understanding of markets, products, merchandising, and trade regulations.

Mr. Ray also highlighted India’s growing global brand trust and the expanding opportunities created by FTAs with the UAE, Australia, and EFTA nations, which offer duty-free market access for Indian jewellery.
