The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) actively participated in the Mega Career Fair organised by Masoom Education at the Central Railway Officers Club Hall in Matunga (E), Mumbai, on November 29, 2025. With an impressive footfall of nearly 800 to 1,000 visitors, the event turned into a strong platform for students, parents and guardians to explore real career opportunities.
A total of 27 institutes were part of this fair, including VLCC, Kohinoor Technical Institute, L&T Construction Skills Training Institute, Humsafar NGO and Tweet Foundation NGO. The varied participation ensured that attendees could discover multiple skill-based learning paths suited to their interests and aspirations. At the GJSCI stall, the team focused on spreading awareness about the JOSH program, a completely free, three-month skill training initiative aimed at creating future professionals for the gems and jewellery sector.
Information regarding eligibility, available courses, job placement support and the Rs. 2,000 monthly allowance for trainees was shared with each visitor. Many students were genuinely surprised to learn about the zero-fee structure and the financial support offered during the training period.
By the end of the event, approximately 70 individuals registered their interest in joining GJSCI’s training ecosystem. Most of them expressed eagerness to explore jewellery-based career options and were keen to visit a nearby JOSH center for more information.The event allowed GJSCI to directly connect with young talent and help them understand the opportunities within India’s growing jewellery industry.
