Addressing the meeting, Alrosa Director General Pavel Marinychev said the company remained the world’s largest diamond miner, accounting for around one-third of global output. He noted that Alrosa continues to stand out for its financial stability and profitability at a time when much of the global diamond mining sector is under pressure from weak demand and sanctions.

Nikolaev acknowledged that 2025 was a challenging year but praised Alrosa for maintaining core production targets and advancing key infrastructure projects, including the gasification of the Udachninsky GOK and the Nakynskaya production site. He also highlighted the company’s ongoing social commitments in the region.

During the year, Alrosa made progress in expanding its mineral resource base. Geological exploration helped increase reserves at major deposits, refine resources in the Mirny area, and strengthen prospects in placer and greenfield zones. These efforts are expected to support stable operations over the next 25-30 years.

Extending the life of core deposits remains central to the company’s strategy. Investments in underground mining, including the Udachnaya underground project, are expected to enable production until 2055. Work is also continuing on the Mir-Deep underground mine and the Jubilee pipe.
