ICA CEO Doug Hucker Retires

1614918816 ICA 1The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announced the retirement of CEO Doug Hucker, effective 22 April 2026, closing a tenure marked by post-Covid stabilisation and tighter financial discipline.

Damien Cody, President, ICA, said, “Doug has made a significant contribution to ICA during a pivotal time for our industry. His experience, professionalism and commitment have helped strengthen the Association and position it well for the future. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and service.”

Prior to joining ICA, Hucker served as CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) for approximately 24 years. Earlier in his career, he also held positions with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Reflecting on his departure, Hucker said, “It has been a privilege to serve the ICA and its members. I am proud of what we have accomplished together during a period of significant change. These achievements reflect the collective effort of a committed Board, dedicated members, and a passionate global community. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such talented and driven individuals. I am confident the Association will continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.”
