Watch & Clock Fair, Salon de TIME open next week

jbjjiokThe 45th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the 14th Salon de TIME, co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Limited and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades and Industries Limited, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1 to 5 September under the theme “Sparkling Moments Through Time”.

The Click2Match AI-powered business matching platform is open from today until 12 September, enabling exhibitors and buyers from different countries and regions to connect and conduct business discussions online.

The opening ceremony on the first day will be officiated by Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government, as the Guest of Honour.

The two fairs are expected to attract more than 630 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions this year. The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair features several product zones, including Pageant of Eternity, showcasing high-end complete watches produced through Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM). Other zones include Complete Watches, Clocks, Machinery & Equipment, Packaging & Display, and Components & Accessories, offering comprehensive coverage of the entire watch and clock supply chain and providing global buyers with a one-stop sourcing platform.

To celebrate the 45th edition of the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, the organisers have also created a special “Time Tunnel” exhibition, allowing visitors to revisit the fair’s remarkable journey and key milestones since its inception in 1982.

Salon de TIME has attracted more than 150 watch brands from around the world, marking its largest edition ever, and will be fully open to the public with free admission. Among its six thematic zones, the World Brand Piazza, sponsored by Prince Jewellery & Watch for the 16th consecutive year, will showcase limited-edition and rare timepieces from six prestigious international watch brands.

Microbrands will feature 29 niche brands from eight countries and regions, with both zones doubling in size compared to last year. Other themed zones include Renaissance Moment, presenting an array of European watch brands; Wearable Tech, showcasing the latest watch technologies; Craft Treasure, featuring brands renowned for fine craftsmanship and high jewellery timepieces; and Chic & Trendy, bringing together fashion watch brands.

The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair will host a series of seminars, forums and networking events for industry professionals, including the Hong Kong International Watch Forum on 1 September and the Asian Watch Conference on 2 September. On 3 September, FIYTA will hold a product launch for a timepiece specially designed for Lai Ka-ying, Hong Kong’s first female payload specialist, with the company’s chief designer presenting the inspiration and design concept behind the watch.

Salon de TIME will feature a variety of special events and watch showcases open to the public. Highlights include the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition, for which celebrity Joey Thye will serve as a guest judge and attend the award presentation ceremony on 5 September. Shortlisted entries will also be displayed throughout the exhibition.

Other exciting events include a series of watch parades and product launches. Memorigin will invite several celebrity guests to attend its activities, including celebrity Vic Teo, Hong Kong basketball star Wong Lut Yiu, and renowned face-changing performer Hathor Wai.

Running concurrently from 2 to 5 September, CENTRESTAGE will bring together fashion brands and designer collections from around the world, creating strong synergy between the watch and fashion industries. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the latest products from over 400 watch and fashion brands at the two events.
