Christie’s Jewels Online: The London Edit auction from 2 to 15 June presents a selection of fine antique and contemporary jewellery, led by a beautiful early 20th century diamond bandeau/tiara by Boucheron (estimate: £100,000-150,000, illustrated centre top), which has remained in the same British aristocratic family since its acquisition.

The Parisian jeweller has a longstanding reputation of creating some of the most impressive tiaras of the 20th Century including this example which has been worn at State Openings of Parliament as well as receptions at Buckingham Palace.

The sale will additionally showcase a wide ranging selection of diamonds, coloured gemstones and signed jewels from prestigious houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Harry Winston and Bulgari.

Two additional tiaras will be presented for sale, each of differing designs, reflecting the variations in jewellery styles in the first decade of the 20th century. A striking diamond aigrette/tiara, circa 1900 is accompanied by fittings to convert to a hatpin, brooch or pendant (estimate: £25,000-35,000) and an elegant Diamond and Pearl Tiara, circa 1900, which can additionally be worn as a necklace (estimate: £8,000-12,000).

The sale also features a single owner collection of 19th century jewels and an impressive diamond necklace suspending a 36.44 carats internally flawless fancy yellow coloured diamond (estimate: £300,000-400,000).

Additional highlight lots of the sale include a retro Cartier coloured sapphire and diamond flower brooch (estimate: £15,000-20,000, illustrated below left), and a Belle Epoque Ruby and Diamond Brooch/Plaque de Cou designed as a cascade of fuchsias, circa 1900 (estimate: £15,000-20,000). A handsome emerald and diamond necklace and earring set will be offered (estimate: £150,000-200,000) alongside a Van Cleef & Arpels flying butterfly necklace/brooch (estimate: £120,000-180,000).

Jewels Online: The London Edit will be held online from 2 to 15 June, with viewing at Christie’s King Street from 3 to 14 June. Further jewellery this season will be offered at Christie’s London within The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection on 8 June. This includes a selection of vintage jewels from designers such as Marina B, Verdura and Elizabeth Gage, and is also available for viewing from 3 June.
